Washing and Bathing

Cushions

Astor-Bannerman manufactures a full range of padded cushions to fit its baths and we can supply cushions shaped to your own requirements. We also manufacture a special range of body support cushions which can be shaped around the patient, and then, using a small hand bulb, pumped out to turn the cushion into a rigid support that holds and supports the patient’s shape. 

Once the cushion has been pumped up it will hold the same shape indefinitely until the valve is released. The cushion will then go back to being soft and easily shaped, ready for use in a different position. The cushion can be pumped out and released a number of times without loosing its softness and rigidity.

Support cushions are often the best way of giving precise, directed support during bathing or even hydrotherapy. We offer four standard designs of cushion but make many non-standard shapes to order.
