After working with Worthing Hospital on their nearly-completed Changing Places toilet project, Dan Brice, one of our Changing Places sales team members for the South, visited the Maternity Unit with his wife Hayley for a very different reason recently – to give birth to their baby son Albie!

So, in honour of Dan’s first Father’s Day, we would like to say HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the Dads, Grandpas and wonderful father figures in our lives. And also, we couldn’t let the day pass without telling some toilet jokes that only a father could chortle, chuckle or snigger at….

Why is a Changing Places toilet a great place for a nap? It’s a Restroom.

Whilst we normally conduct surveys before a project begins, go on site visits during installation and a do final check to give a Changing Places the all clear once it’s complete and ready for action, we don’t often have the opportunity to visit a site for personal reasons.

But for Dan, finding himself back there wasn’t at all unexpected given the circumstances. Worthing Hospital is not only the site of one of our Changing Places installations, located in the easy to find and accessible main foyer area, but also an exemplary Maternity Unit. And they were about to be new parents!

What’s the matter with jokes about toilets? They always stink.

‘They were so brilliant, they really looked after us’ was the new father’s glowing praise of the Worthing Hospital Maternity Team. Arriving as a family of two and leaving as a trio; they welcomed their anticipated new arrival Albie just before the Changing Places toilet was finished.

The toilet features our ergonomic and aesthetic Astor CTX wall-mounted, height adjustable changing table, Astor ABW-CP height adjustable washbasin and the compact and quiet Astor OT200 Ceiling Hoist System which offers total room coverage. It is a great example of what can be achieved for accessibility with progressive design and experience; supporting disabled patients and visitors alike.

What’s the difference between good and bad toilet paper? One is terrible, and one is tearable.

Working alongside Willmott Dixon’s team and the architect – with whom we had completed another Changing Places toilet at Southlands Hospital – our team fitted the full specification of equipment for the Changing Places room.

Though Albie may have stolen the limelight from his Dad, we’re still pretty impressed with this toilet!

Happy Father’s Day Dan, and many congratulations to you both.
