Working closely with Newcastle University’s estates and access teams, Astor Bannerman delivered a high-quality, fully compliant Changing Places facility in line with BS8300 and Changing Places Consortium standards.

The facility has been strategically located within the first floor of the Herschel Building to ensure ease of access from main teaching spaces and entrances.

Standard accessible toilets do not meet the needs of everyone. For students and visitors with profound and multiple learning or physical disabilities, a Changing Places facility provides the space and specialist equipment required for safe and dignified use.

By including a Changing Places toilet at the Herschel Building, Newcastle University has further demonstrated its commitment to ensuring all students and visitors can participate fully in academic and social life on campus.
