Today was the Special Olympics Gloucestershire Taster Day, an event encouraging people with physical and learning disabilities to get active.

Astor-Bannerman showed our support for the event and went along to cheer on the wonderful competitors and families.

The event offered a range of different sporting activities designed to be accessible for children and adults with disabilities. There were team sports such as football and cricket and individual activities like archery and gymnastics. There were over 400 participants and the enthusiasm was palpable throughout the day.

Today’s Taster Day is part of a wider initiative lead by the charity, Active Gloucestershire, to get Gloucestershire moving. There is a particular focus on groups of people who need that extra support, such as older communities and children and adults with disabilities.

As leading providers of specialist care products and sponsors of the Changing Places campaign, we are keen to work with local and national charities to support people with disabilities. We look forward to working closely with the Special Olympics and Active Gloucestershire to further the vision to get Gloucestershire moving.
