To further strengthen its accessibility provision, Greenbank Sports Academy now includes a fully equipped Changing Places toilet, delivered in collaboration with JRD Design & Build Ltd, ensuring visitors with complex disabilities and their carers can access the site comfortably, safely, and with dignity.

Accessibility sits at the centre of Greenbank Sports Academy’s design and ethos. The venue already provides step-free access throughout, alongside accessible sports courts, adapted equipment, and supported sessions for users with additional needs.
The introduction of a Changing Places facility significantly enhances this provision, allowing visitors to stay longer and take part more fully in training sessions, events, and community sport without being limited by inadequate hygiene facilities.
This addition reinforces the academy’s commitment to removing barriers to participation and supporting inclusive sport at every level.

Within the Changing Places toilet at Greenbank Sports Academy, we installed:

The facility also includes a peninsular WC, grab rails, emergency assistance alarm system, and generous circulation space to support safe, dignified assisted use.
The inclusion of both ceiling track hoisting and flexible privacy screening allows carers to support users efficiently while maintaining comfort and dignity throughout use.
