With over 20 years experience in the medical equipment industry, in 2013 year Astor-Bannerman (Medical) Ltd became the official co-sponsor of the Changing Places Campaign.
Back in November, Marketing Managers for Astor-Bannerman and co-sponsors OpeMed, Wendy & Lucy, began a tour of official Changing Places facilities throughout the UK and will be continuing this throughout 2014.
They hope that by doing this, they can help to raise awareness of these incredibly important facilities and encourage more Airports, Service Stations, Tourist Attractions, Shopping Centres and many more public places in the country to dedicate a space for one of these accessible toilet and changing facilities; because everyone should be able to visit the places that so many of us take for granted.
Imagine if you were disabled…
Imagine if you wanted to go shopping but there was nowhere for you to go to the toilet
Imagine if you had to be cared for on a dirty floor of a small disabled toilet
Imagine having to use a baby changing unit as a fully grown adult
Imagine if you had to plan every single trip out around there being a suitable facility for your needs
Imagine if you had to stay trapped in your home instead of going out because there were no suitable toilets
This is the sad reality that so many disabled people face every single day of their lives and in a world where are all equals this is completely unacceptable.
