Our lovely team here at Astor Bannerman got together for a little lunchtime party, as part of Muscular Dystrophy UK’s #GoBright awareness month. Packed with bright, colourful, and extremely tasty doughnuts and cakes, the team not only filled their bellies, but the donation pot, which we hope will aid in supporting those living with Muscular Dystrophy, funding vital research into the condition and driving forward emerging treatments.

Muscular Dystrophy UK is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals, families and professionals coping with muscle-wasting conditions. MDUK was founded in 1959 and has been leading the fight against muscle wasting conditions since that point.

Astor Bannerman worked closely with Muscular Dystrophy almost 30 years ago to develop a washbasin suitable for children living with Muscular Dystrophy to use when young, and as they grow older and their disability progresses – the ABW6 height adjustable wash basin.

In addition, we have always been strong supporters of the Changing Places Campaign (MDUK are the co-chairs of the Changing Places consortium which leads the campaign), and were co-sponsors for more than 8 years. Changing Places Toilets are life changing facilities for many thousands of people who have complex needs and for whom standard accessible toilets are unsuitable.
