The NORA Alu is a sit to stand aid designed for residents who retain some weight-bearing ability but require structured support to stand, transfer, and mobilise safely. Unlike mobile hoists, the NORA Alu actively involves the resident in the transfer process – helping to maintain and even improve their musculoskeletal function over time, leading to measurable improvements in quality of life.

Built from high-quality aluminium components, the NORA Alu is remarkably lightweight at approximately 51 kg, making it easy for a single caregiver to manoeuvre and operate without physical strain. An electrically spreadable chassis ensures stability during transfers, while closed double castors (two with brakes) provide reliable and quiet movement across all floor types.

A key differentiator is the provision of additional sling attachment points at a lower position, specifically designed to accommodate smaller residents (under 1.60 m in height) – preventing the painful pressure under the arms that standard attachment points can cause. The flexible, height-adjustable knee pads with integrated safety belts are individually adaptable to each resident, preventing pressure on the kneecaps during the standing motion.

Suitable for toileting and showering of intimate areas, the NORA Alu performs across a wide range of daily care tasks. The hand control displays battery status and uses intuitive symbols for all functions, and an emergency lowering function provides an important safety backstop.
