A highlight of our month was to personally deliver our donation of 675 slings to National Star, our neighbouring charity organisation.  Making a difference to people’s lives is at the heart of what we do, and to be able to support a local charity at this time was very important for us.

We spoke with National Star’s Chief Operating Officer, Lynette Barrett, to hear her view on our £70,000 donation.

“The difference that such a generous donation as this will make to our students and the staff that will supporting the students who are using them will be enormous. The last 12 months has been a really difficult time, with increased costs in areas that we could never have predicted, and as a charity we have made every attempt to ensure we are being as economical as possible. A donation as generous as this will make such a difference to us financially as well, so a huge thank you.”

Astor Bannerman’s Managing Director, Mark Colebrook, was interviewed by BBC radio about the donation:

“It’s fantastic to be able to work with another local, strong organisation trying to support and improve the lives of people living with disabilities. We hope to continue to strengthen this relationship going forward by working closely with National Star on various projects and topics”

Astor Bannerman have a long history of working with National Star, and look forward to an on-going relationship of support.
