This year’s tennis Championships at Wimbledon start this Monday, and in a big win for toilet inclusivity, disabled visitors will have access to two Changing Places toilets on site.

Astor Bannerman equipment was used in both accessible toilets, the first installed in 2018, the second the following year.

For both projects, the Astor Bannerman team worked with Wimbledon’s in-house planning consultant to put together a plan and design to suit the busy site and Wimbledon’s disabled visitors, some who have complex needs.

The two Changing Places toilets are situated on opposite sides of the sports venue, one next to Court 2 at the bottom of the site, and one at the top next to Court 18. This enables easy access, and ensures that visitors are never very far from an accessible toilet.

Both toilets feature the Astor CT Nivano wall mounted Changing and Showering table, one featuring a bespoke ‘lawn’ green padded top, the Astor OT200 Ceiling Track Hoist, the Astor ABWSP Height Adjustable Wash Basin, a Geberit Wash and Dry Toilet, a fixed privacy screen and accessories such as hand rails, hand dryers and alarms.
